NFS - Shift 2 wheel settings

Evening all,
Search on this site doesn't seem to be helping, I'm sure there is a topic on this somewhere.
Trying to play the above game on my PS3 using my driving force pro steering wheel, despite googling etc I can't find a set up that makes this game playable, I remember the last game took a while, but does anyone have a setup that makes this game enjoyable or have a just wasted £15 of the queens finest?
I enjoyed playing the first iteration of this once the setup had been established, but just a few hours in this game is making want to throw my new born ps3 at the neighbours car.
