I think I need to change the battery in the remote for my 04 Celica.

Can I just undo the fob and swap the battery out or will it fubar the alarm and locking system ?

Im always nervous of these bloody things.

Do you have a spare one? Keep that working while you replace the battery in the main one. They fully expect batteries to need replacing and for owners to DIY it, so I wouldn't see any issues with doing it. Just get the right one!

But it will let you in to the car etc.

You should be able to pop the fob apart and exmine the battery so that you can buy a replacment to have to swap over immediately.

Just had a dig through the OM, it says just replace the battery as normal - but then says check it still works, because if it doesnt, you are off to Toyo land..... frown

Might speak to them tomo.

Read somewhere you've got ten minutes to replace the battery before it needs resetting, just make you've got the right one. You can have a look before you take it out.
