Sure I've seen this before but the search is down so a bit stuck....

I've just fitted some re-furbished Nitrons and new springs all round on the Griff... and taking it for a drive the other night, noticed a noise from the rear end... its a squeaking as the back moves up and down slightly... also, now back in the garage, I can bounce the rear end each side and get it making the squeeking noise... but I can't push it and get under at the same time.. just small bounces do it?..nothing from the fronts??... any thoughts....

(yes I know.. get a mate around.. but as I say.. I'm sure I've seen something on this before??)

cheers.... smile

I had a similar issue when I rebuilt the suspension (including new shocks/springs). Gave all the moving parts a good spray with WD40 and that cured it for me.

But I've already covered them in grease.. the only thing I didn't do was the shaft thru the seal in the actual shock?...
All very strange?...

Guess I need a wheel off and get the hub on a block and see where its coming from....

are yours Nitrons?...

No Racing Reds - I had covered everything in copper ease grease too during reassembly.

let her settle down before you do too much,if you have changed the ride height etc the roll bar ect will sit differant etc, this can cause squeeks.Had this problem with my last car......never found the noise.....but it weny on its own.The wife had a squeek on the z3 this turned out to be a drop link problem.

Hi.. not drop links as I have rose-jointed ones top and bottom.. but could be the seals in the shocks themselves.. will see how they go... or get a mate to bounce it whilst I have a look under...
.
Have seen this before but not for Nitrons?....
