Hi,

My friend went to get his MOT yesterday and unfortunately his car failed. He, for whatever reason, didn't ask for clarification at the time, but these are the reasons on the refusal sheet he sent me:

I think 002 is fairly self-explanatory. 001 and 002 I have absolutely no idea about. How much is this likely to cost him and can he get it done at any garage? The car is a FIAT Panda 100HP.

TIA,

HH

  1. 1 is probably causing #3. Probably just needs a new exhaust and wiper. £200 tops?

Jack the car up, start the engine and see where the exhaust is blowing from. As above, it's probably the exhaust leak that's causing the odd lambda readings.

That is the way I read it, exhaust gasket and a wiper(blade).

OP, what car is it?

Well it says it's blowing at the gasket. It might just need the bolts tightening or it might need the sections on both sides replacing... impossible to say without seeing it.

Then, of course, there's that moment that the stud shears off....
