Anyone in the Cambridge area if you could please keep your eyes and ears open for Bayer. A white English Buller Terrier with black around the ears. She escaped out of the car at Milton Country Park around 1.00pm yesterday. She is very friendly and loves people. If anyone has seen her, there is a heart broken 6 year old boy who cant understand why his best friend isnt at home.

Any information on her where abouts would be much appreciated. It seems unbelievable that no one has seen her. Even if you dont have her but know where she is.....

Shi*. Hope you find her safe & well....

Not nice when this happens. Did you notice her missing straight away? Did she just run away from the car? and why would she want to escape & run away?

She jumped out of the car when the boot was opened. Not my dog but a very good friend of mine. I just hope she has been picked up by someone who is looking after her and not by some of the more unsavoury charecters that are about. But regardless of that if you do see her please pick her up and contact me. We need to get her home to her best buddy.

Bayer is still missing, she has a mobile number on her collar. If you find her please call that number and let her family know she is safe.

This from from Bayers owners:-

Bayer is such a special girl who didn't exactly have the best start in life. However, she was eventually adopted from an amazing couple who due to no fault of their own, had to let her go. At that time, she was living very close to Ipswich and we drove 200 miles to see her. We fell in love with her immediately and brought her home to Staffordshire where she has been for the last 3 months.

We regularly keep in touch with her previous owners, and have become good friends with them. We decided that it would be really nice to meet up at Christmas with all the dogs and go for a walk, as they were desperate to see Bayer again. We agreed to meet roughly half way and plumped for Milton Country Park near Cambridge. (CB24 postcode area)

We arrived at midday on Thursday 29th December where her previous owners were eagerly waiting for us. Bayer was in the boot of the car and looked very excited. Little did I know that she was about to change our lives forever. I opened the boot thinking that she would jump out and enjoy all the fuss she was about to get, whilst giving me time to clip the lead to her collar.

How wrong could I be? She leapt out of the boot and started to run like I have never seen her run before. We started to run after her, screaming at her to come back but she was so fast - we had no chance of catching her. We then spent the next 3 hours scouring the local area for her, but to no avail.

Someone told my Husband that they had seen her leave the park and run along a road towards Tesco supermarket which is close by. We searched nearby streets but found nothing. With the help of our friends, all organisations (Police, Dog Warden, Vets, you name it.....) were called immediately.

At 3pm we had to make the heartbreaking decision to leave, as we had to drive 120 miles back to collect my 6 year old son - who knew nothing about the incident.
Since then, we have tirelessly tried every avenue to get some information. As yet, we have not received a single call.

We are not in the fortunate position of being able to scour the streets of Cambridge to look for Bayer - it is just too far away. This is making it increasingly frustrating and upsetting for us.

Please help us. xxxxx

Something isn't right here..... Dogs don't just run away as fast as they can for no reason!

With all due respect, the dog didn't seem to be very happy at all with it's surroundings & decided to do a runner. Something just doesn't add up.

Why does it need an answer, all we are concerned about is finding the dog and getting it back to its family.

Because something seems to have given this dog an oportunity to "leg it" & I am confused as to why a "happy" dog would do this & not come back!

As stateed in my post above, Bayer has only lived with her new family for 3 months. She had previously lived with another family who couldnt keep her anymore. This is the first time they had taken her to this place and the first time she had not been on a lead. Why she decided to run, who knows what was on her mind, maybe she saw something in the distance that she wanted and decided to chase it. Not all dogs have a great recall. The family headed back to Cambridge today to search for her and put posters up. It does seem very odd that no one has seen her. As in a previous post her collar has a mobile number on it, why someone wouldnt call who has found her is beyond me!!

Have you searched that site you were talking about in a previous post?

Is it a travellers site? If so, they would probably keep the dog & deny seeing it. Worth having a look around there if there are any doubts.

I got a very happy and friendly Plummer terrier, good as gold unless he's off the lead then he just bolts off!

Some dogs haven't had training from a pup, mine was rescued and the only thing he won't do is recall

It's terrier instinct, or terrier selective hearing

These things happen with dogs and humans!

I hope you find him, I will keep my eye out in Peterborough (every little helps)
