Hi all,was reading a lot of forums yesterday (mostly in USA)about Cayman S modifications and read on a few sites about the option of fitting a turbo and adding 100bhp, anybody on here done it? They were talking about cost approx $8k for it.

I would rather sell the cayman and get a 996 TT.... much faster and engine is made for around 900 HP...

Agree. Makes much better financial sense, has a stronger engine and is a fully developed Turbo car.

Turbocharging cars yourself rarely makes any sense whatsoever. Much better to buy the right car in the first place.

they have also done a spyder.460BHp and 1290kg's would be a hoot

You agree that I would be better off getting a TT rather than a modified CS and now you post this lol

Personally if you are looking at it from a financial perspective it makes no sense. If looking for something different it makes a lot of sense and I have done some daft things with cars in the past. On this score it appeals a lot.

Do it and let us know what you think. wink

Mate watching that video clip just makes you want to do it lol, can you imagine 485bhp from a cayman!! it would be fun. I am off to Thailand for 10 days in the morning but when I get back I will have a look and see if I can find anyone in the Uk capable of doing the mod to get an idea of the cost, as I said they were talking $8k but would need to get a price and see exactly what is required, in the mean time whilst I am away if anyone else has any info on it I would love to hear from you.

TPC are the main company for making a Turbo Cayman. Parr in the UK fit TPC kits. To the OP I would suggest having a look on planet-9. A few people on there have had the TPC/Parr kit and some have been happy but there is at least one tale of woe on there.
