Does oil go off?

Tidying up the garage and found I had two 5l containers (one sealed, one part used) of Silkolene 5-40 Esther Fully Synthetic Oil. I reckon these are 5-6 years old so do you think they would still be OK?
Cheers
Rob
Rob: no, it doesn't but an open container could have become contaminated so I'd dispose of that one and keep the sealed one.Cheers

I would use both as I don't think it goes off.
Being "Fully Synthetic" I would be surprised if it came out of the ground at all.
Even the plastic bottle container is made from the black stuff that comes out of the ground. Being "Fully Synthetic" I would be surprised if it came out of the ground at all.
Can't remember the exact number but around 300 products can be made from a barrel of oil.
