Tidying up the garage and found I had two 5l containers (one sealed, one part used) of Silkolene 5-40 Esther Fully Synthetic Oil. I reckon these are 5-6 years old so do you think they would still be OK?

Cheers

Rob: no, it doesn't but an open container could have become contaminated so I'd dispose of that one and keep the sealed one.

It doesn't have a use by date as such, however I would check that it is an SL oil. I would also give it a very good shake before use to remix all the elements as they will have settled out by now.

I would use both as I don't think it goes off.
Being "Fully Synthetic" I would be surprised if it came out of the ground at all.

Even the plastic bottle container is made from the black stuff that comes out of the ground.

Can't remember the exact number but around 300 products can be made from a barrel of oil.
