Lee Filters Adaptor Wont Fit

I have a Sigma 15-30mm lens with a 82mm lens cap diameter so I have bought a Lee Filters 82mm adaptor ring.
I have just gone to fit it and try out my new filters but the adaptor ring won't physically go on the threaded part of the lens

The threads themselves just won't touch, am I doing something wrong here or have I ordered the wrong adaptor ring?

May sound stupid but have you got it the right way round?

They also could have sent you the wrong size...

Yes right way round, I have googled it and it seems it is the design of the lens at fault here, it just won't take it.

Stupid thing, could be an excuse for a new lens though....
