of all places autoglass have come up with the goods ( well they say they will have it on Friday ) , and aside from the 75 quid excess on my insurance it's free ! Still 75quid though.
Of course I have to also buy my local mechanic a bottle of jameson's to placate him for having to park it in his garage for the last week or so .But hey if I am buying one bottle of jamie for him I may as well buy one for myself , so not all bad.

Picked the glass up from autoglass and the price on the invoice ( of which I just had to pay 75quid excess ) was £540. Dear lord the wedge it's going into didnt cost a whole lot more than that!

thankfully I did not have to pay the 540 , just the 75 quid excess. Having said that the mechanic just called me telling me it was the wrong side , honestly you could'nt make it up. So the plots thins....another week wedgeless , I am getting too used to driving round in her old saab 900 convertible ( 1991 , proper saab ) , they have this thing called a heater , sort of like what is in the wedge but it blows out hot air , really hot air - really good idea that.
