Mercedes CLK-GTR Roadster, unloved supercar or not????
Discussion
So I was out with the family yesterday buying the boys a couple of RC cars (you need to start them early) and as we were close to Brooklands decided to pop into Mercedes World. Miss Streetrod has decided a Brabus G Wagon will make an ideal school run car
Anyway I digress.
So as I was wandering around I came across the one and only CLK-GTR Roadster in RHD. And I have to say it is rather fetching in a shade of metallic grey. I must admit the purple interior was a little "sudden" but would be an easy fix if needed.
The engine cover was off when I saw it and the engine did look very nice except for the truly huge exhaust cans
But what got me about this mega rare car is that it rarely ever appears on peoples dream car list. Why is that?
I did take some pics on my phone but they did not come out too well so I have nicked one off the net:

If you are in the area its worth a look

I am probably wrong (I usually am) but didn't they convert some of the coupé's into convertibles to try and help to sell them. They cost £1.1 million when they were new around 12 years ago and only 26 were produced if my memory serves me correctly.
I think that they are beautiful looking cars - so purposeful, and if I was in the extremely fortunate position of being able to afford one then I would definitely buy one albeit a coupé version, even if the gearbox isn't particularly intuitive so I have heard, as although it has a 'flappy paddle' 'box you still have to use the clutch, also when Tiff Needell tested one when they were released the bodywork caught fire around the exhaust.

Gorgeous cars, love them.
Is that not a completely unrelated model?
