Happy new year to everyone smile

I've done a search but nothing came up, question is has anyone SC'd a 3000M, or know if it's difficult/impossible or what ???

Thanks in anticipation,

Chilli

With a nicely developed, valley mounted system, the intake manifold would probably be the single most cost prohibitive part. There are plenty of modern supercharging systems you could adapt, though. Have a look at what the aftermarket offers for current production V6s from Ford and GM.

Would you really prefer this over turbocharging? Why?

Best,
B.

OK, The answer to the question is going to sound a bit bonkers, but it goes back to my childhood, and if memory serves, the first James Bond book I read IIRC the man was driving a supercharged Bentley (Speed Six ?). Also when I was a young Lotus 7 owning chap in the late 60's a mate fitted a supercharger to his Healy Frogeye (and thats a whole story on its own smile) So its partly nostalgia, and partly associating turbo's with the hooligan element rolleyes (Although that didn't stop me owning a Sierra RS Cosworth back in the day). It also seems that a SC'd 3000M would be unusual ? Well I said it would sound bonkers wink

Back in the early 1980s I new a chap called Chris Peg who had a supercharged Mk1 3 litre Capri, that thing used to accelerate like a mad thing, he used to run it in some street modified drag racing class.

You may find this relevant:

Iain Daniels successfully ran a Supercharged Scimitar GTE with a 3.0 V6 in some Hill Climbing championships..he used to be sponsored by my fathers company.

Here's a recent reference:

These are his business details...Iain Daniels Classic Car Engineering/Classic Motorsport (01530 515300 for Competition preparation / welding / repairs & service).

I think the engine work was carried out by J.W. Developments (Ford 3.0/2.8 V6):
