Got the quote and want to make the change - BUT - The Mrs is concerned it will be TOO loud and consequently won't want to drive it (No abuse please). Naturally I pointed out the basic criteria and that the lovely rumble could never be TOO loud but need to give some evidence or at least hear it for myself. Does anyone live in SW London that has the sports exhaust and wouldn't mind firing her up for me so I can hear the difference. Would be appreciated.

How about going to the ACE cafe this evening - there are bound to be some sports exhausts there....

I have the sports exhaust and am planning on heading down myself.

I am going to wave at some porkies as I pass them all the way up the M1 to leads this afternoon so can't do the ACE cafe unfortunately.

You can fire up the Mrs if you pay to fire up the chim. You wouldn't be dissapointed.

I remember hearing the converted 'sports' exhaust for the first time. Was quite funny actually because I booked my Griff in at Fernhursts and the day before taking it there was flicking through the history/paperwork from the prervious owner and I found a receipt that had this modification on it, but it was crossed out.

So, not sure if it had been done or not I went to Fernies and said to brian that i wasn't sure if it'd already been done as it was already nice and loud, aren't they all?

Upon starting it up he assured me it wasn't and took me into the showroom and started up a 4 litre Chim with the converted exhaust. Just before he started it, I said that I was sure it had been done, he then fires up the Chim and my response was something along the lines of "FK ME! No your right it hasn't been done but I want it done NOW!"

Does get a bit loud but personally I think that's a good thing. It's also a different sound with a much harder edge to it. Listen to one after a standard exhaust and you'll see what I mean. Lastly they tend to pop/bang a lot which is fantastic in car parks/tunnels etc.

You know it makes sense...

Hi Toby,

I remember when I bought P400BYE, Adrian Blyth had to move another Chim that was infront of her... it had a sports exhaust on it. My friend who was with me was standing right behind it when Adrian fired it up... I have never seen anyone run away from a car before!!

Definately worth it in my book. You should try and check out Cerber450's car if you want to hear loud... Alton, Hen and Chicken meet this thursday would be a good one, would be nice to see you and the car again!

Hi Antony,

I am meeting Darren tomorrow evening in Esher where I have been promised there is a big tunnel, a nice pub and a very loud chim. Thursday evening I am doing the JP Morgan Challenge for some screwed up reason then off to Wales on Friday for a stag do. ANYONE DRIVING DOWN THE M4 TO WALES ON FRIDAY ????? I see you are back in Chim world - should meet up at an event given I have still been to the sum total of zero and have had the car for a year.
