Fitness Goals/Targets For 2012?
Discussion
If theres another thread running with this apologies, but what are your goals for 2012?
Mine are, Competition wise:
Have entered Straphpuffer 24 hour MTB race on 7/8 Jan 12 and great North Swim, may enter a x-fit comp later on this year.
Food wise:
Cutting bread out
Strength wise:
Just keep cracking the whip as normal.
Personal fitness goal:
2 miler to top of Pen 'Y' Fan in under 29 minutes, currently at 32mins.

Ah, just posted on the Transformation thread before spotting this, but for me it is to lose another 5 stone by Jan 1st 2013.
On top of that - and one will help the other - to be faster, more agile, more powerful/athletic and with even better endurance (and the last few months have really brought that up to a pretty good level), with a better balance between body parts/strengths and abilities, and to keep what strength I can.
I'll do this through diet, regularity of training, a continued focus on speed work and endurance/lactic tolerance sessions and some but fewer weight based workouts (usually added into the boxing/trunk/cardio sessions).
I'll report back win or lose at the year's end (but don't expect/won't stand for a lose!)

Hehe. Great timing with the thread. In the last 10 minutes, I've decided to aim to do 25 pull ups in a row. 16 is a bit of a struggle but possible. Not entirely sure how to train up to this, mind.
My brother bought a new (and brilliant) pull up frame for his door frame based set up and started to add weighted chins/pullups as well as the usual higher rep sets. This has motivated him to do a blitz of heavy one session, bodyweight only the next on a more regular basis and he's up to +35Kg on top of his bodyweight of 68Kg.As a result his reps to failure on bodyweight only has gone up to c.25 now. So that might be one method to try? Probably a bit ironic after posting about not necessarily needing to train with weights earlier!

And for lower body, have you spotted this link?http://www.twohundredsquats.com/test.html

"Coming soon". I did think that training method might help but I don't know why it would be any better than doing as many reps repeatedly.Lost_BMW said:

I can do +11kg for about 8 reps. Then I appear to transcend dimensions. Or at least go light in the head.
A continuation of 2011 would be great(my training has been fabulous in the last 12 months). No specific targets for body weight or body fat - I've got those nailed. Really looking forward to doing some competetive cycling locally and on the near continent in the coming months. Really excited for the coming year.
Happy new year all !
My aims for the year are to get sort of lean by May

Aiming for under 13 stone, currently sitting at 14 stone 11. To do this I will stick with circuit training and sort my diet out, cutting out the 8-10 slices of white bread per day should help !
Good luck to everyone with their goals

To put on a stone 1/2 to 2 stone. 11 stone at the moment which is classed as skinny runt at just short of 6ft
Just trying to eat as much as possible and lift heavy weights
You can have two stone from me!Just trying to eat as much as possible and lift heavy weights
My aim is to get down to 15 stone, currently around 16.75. I had got down to 15 stone 10, but went a bit OTT over Xmas. Also want to improve my running, get down to under 10:30 for a mile and a half, and also be able to do at least 60 press ups in two minutes.
Should be possible.
I had a cholesterol and heart check at Lloyds pharmacy the other day. After that I now have the following goals:
Lower Total Cholesterol
Increase HDL Cholesterol
Lower blood pressure (currently 156/96)
Loose at least 3 stone.
Giving up booze and cheese (my two favorite things) for January to get a head start.
