Vitesse And M5 - Two Questions

I've got two little questions i'm hoping some of you might be able to answer.....
1. Yesterday I spotted a BMW M5 in Tesco's car park at Banbury. Getting all excited, I jotted down the registration and rushed back home to check it out on the MyCarCheck app. However, I am a bit unsure of what I actually did see because when I entered the reg it said 'BMW 520i'. Does this mean I saw a 5 Series with M5 badges?
Oh, and when I said I 'rushed home' and 'got excited', I was only joking!
2. My uncle used to have a Triumph Vitesse. The other day I decided to investigate and see if it was still on the road. After typing the reg into iCarCheck, I found that it was a 1998cc model. Next, I searched 'How Many Left' to see how many were still on the road, and the results showed sixteen. Does this really mean that there are only sixteen left? What's the difference between the 'Vitesse' and the 'Vitesse 2 Litre'. Apparently they all had 2 Litre engines!

I'd be more likely to remove the M badges as (unless sports) I prefer Q cars.When I was at sixth form there was a Police Escort RS1600 Turbo on (wide) steel wheels with solid blue paintwork dressed up to look like a Popular; maybe this is how the police always had them? Some wag had applied Halfords style "Turbo" stickers. It always amused me...

I was thinking he might have took pictures which he could refer to. Well if he does remember it or find it, then I could perhaps do him a favour if he tells me. Well I can name three 2 litre Vitesses which aren't the one you're looking for either.
As somebody has already said, there are more than 16 of them remaining. You need to bear in mind that "Vitesse 2 litre" was the name given to 2 litre versions of the Vitesse MkI, as opposed to the MkII, which was called "MkII", and all were 2 litres. the Vitesse 6 (the 1600 one) is the rarest of the bunch now.
According to your screenshot above, the one you're after is a 1968. that was the changeover year from MkI to MKII.
