I wonder how one of these would affect a Noble? http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=UCVmJGka6s8 Aparently more power from more effecient use of fuel as well as better fuel economy and less CO2. Sounds too good to be true and what a weird video for it.

Are you kidding? No, injecting a few centilitres of water for every 1000 Km of driving is not going to increase you fuel economy/reduce emissions by 50% (as claimed) or even by 1%, it's balls

Don't think for one minute I was thinking of buying one of these, I was just curious to your reactions and they are pretty much what I expected. it is basically a device to get steam into the intake
on boost the pressure would blow the water back down into the bottle
a really simple copy would be to wrap copper brake pipe round the exhaust and use that to get the water hot - use a plastic bottle to store the water
i guess if it actually works it does so by increasing the atomisation of the fuel

Water is very good at absorbing heat though so the theory is there but it needs to be atomised well which takes pressure. A plastic bottle and some hose won't do a thing and as Gadge says, if it's plumbed in between turbo and manifold, the +ve pressure when building boost will just blow the water back into the bottle.

Fascinating stuff, I've just looked through the website. I suppose the same principle (which has been around for 50 years!) is there but SO MUCH more advanced than a plastic bottle, some hose and the MAGIC 'reactor'. Still, I had no idea you could put water through in any form.Stick with Aquamist.

I was very surprised at how much an engine consumes when it's raining (although I can't remember where I read that now!)this is an effective use of water in an engine

That looks like a potentially good idea, I wonder how effective it really is? Presumably the big difficulty is in keeping the combustion chamber temperature under control but a computer controlled system may well do this better than a conventional water jacket. I guess the other issue will be down to corrosion but there's a good 300 years of experience with steam engines to draw on.a 6 stroke engine !

With regards to the infrastructure for the water, I'm sure the oil companies wouldn't object to selling it laced with a little alcohol. Much, much easier than hydrogen...

That's genius! Heat or overheating always seems to be a problem and terrific waste of energy, so making positive use of it is a really smart move.a 6 stroke engine !

I suppose it could work if they can recapture the steam with a condensor and recirculate it back into the engine tank, otherwise it would be saving petrol at the expense of using water, imagine the worldwide water useage with a system like this, they would need to fit the car with a cooling tower and desalinization plant for it to be economically and environmentally viable.
