I'm thinking of fitting a rollbar (Tower View supplied) to my '95 Chim 400. I'd get them to do the work but I keep the car in Scotland and Classic Autosports (near Montrose on the East coast) have done great work on the car to date. Any advice on whether I actually need one, should I have Tower View fit it etc?
Maybe I should just trade in for the Sagaris, saw it at Goodwood on Saturday and it's so much better in the flesh.....

Well that kind of depends on whether your planning any upside down momments in the near future
Do you do a lot of trackdays, sprints, or crash a lot?
As long as it's a proper one and it's fitted correctly it can't do any harm though

There's a pic on Tower View's website showing an upside down Griff... resting on its bonnet and bootlid.

I'd been thinking about one for mine for a while, mainly to stiffen the chassis
but then the other christmas there were rather too many tiv's in hedges and the wifey didnt want me driving it without one so i got the tower view / rollcentre bar.
I had a local place fit it for me, there is no welding just a few holes and bolting up so any good garage should be able to do it for you.
The only down side i've found to the bar is a bit more noise from the fuel pump transmitted into the car.
a mod to the pump mountings may cure this
