Could you screen shot and post them on here for me please, it would be good to compare a few,

How many switchable maps can I have with MS2?

You can swap between 2 maps on an MS ECU if you have that option built into it.

I have to confess, I never understand why this is needed unless its for LPG or maybe turbo waste gate control,

thanks

Hi Alex,

Are you gong for fuel only or the full system with wasted spark. I currently have the V8D fuel only system but will be upgrading soon to wasted spark.

The Mapping is not that difficult once you have a working base map. The Autotune function in Tuner studio or the VE analyser function in Megalogveiwer are really useful tools, although you need a wide band sensor wired into the ECU to use these functions.

Here's my basic settings, fuel table and AFR table.

Hi Daz,

I have the overrun fuel cut-off switched off. Was this set up by the mapper on yours or have you set this up yourself?

What are the benefits of having this switched on?

Thanks Angus, It will be the fuel only for now, until my wallets recovered from Christmas

Are you using stock injectors?

Whats the spec of your engine?

Thanks

Alex

Engine is a 5.0l from V8 Developments fitted with Stage 3 heads, Stealth Cam, ported inlet manifold, Enlarged trumpet base and enlarged Plenum. I've also fitted an ACT smooth bore induction kit. Currently running standard injectors.

Here's my previous thread regarding the installation and inital mapping

http://www.pistonheads.com/gassing/topic.asp?h=0&a...

Fitted a wideband since then and made some major changes to the map. Car is riunning a lot better than after the inital mapping so should be making a bit more power. haven't had chance to put it back on the rolling road to check this though.

One thing to bear in mind is that to upgrade from fuel only to wasted spark requires the ECU to be sent back to phil to install the spark drivers. So it might be a good idea to get these installed up front if you plan to go wasted spark in the future. However once the drivers are installed I think you need to install a trigger wheel for the ECU to pick up the revs as it can no longer pick up the revs from the coil.

Rob set that one up ,Benefits of having it switched on is exploding unused fuel in the exhaust pipe creating "pops and bangs"

Benefits of having it off is you safe quite a bit of petrol.

But i do get a type of snarl noise when i change gear so that will do for me .

The most tricky thing is cold starts, getting it to start to the same standard of the 14CUX mine still takes a couple of turns of the key when very cold .

I had a similar problem with cold starts. Changed the plugs yesterday and mine now starts perfectly.

Hi Alex,
if you ask V8D for switchable maps I will add it for you if you want it. It can be handy if your running very advanced for hi-octane fuel and cant get any, so you switch to a less agresive spark map or the like. Personally I cant see the point, but its there if you want it. As is launch control and a few other bits if you want them adding during the build, I like launch control a lot!! Far more useable!

You have the exactly the same engine spec as mine except i have upgraded the injectors ,your`s will be at there max,The old Lucas injectors were maxed out at 5000rpm so no more fuel gettng in .

Looks like my Spark advance needs work ,mine stops dead after 3000rpm. does it need a knock sensor to be on the safe side?

Mine looks a joke next to yours

Why does mine only have 12x12 from 700rpm to 5500rpm when your as 16x16 on the spark map?

Hi phil,

Noticed that your fuel table entries are to one deicmal place where as mine are to the nearsest whole number. How do I set up tuner studio to allow the extra decimal place?
