Air con compressor problem. What would you do?

The clutch on my con compressor has become very noisy when using it in 'econ' or 'off' mode. Its definitely the clutch I have had it checked by a garage.

Its £150 to have the clutch rebuilt, plus £140 for de gassing, removal and re fit plus a re gas of the system. I can get a new compressor for £301 +vat. I plan on keeping the car at least 3-4 years. If I only have the clutch rebuilt my concern is a few months down the line the compressor could fail.

What would you do if it was your car?

I can only speak from experience but the only fault I have ever seen on an ac compressor is the clutch going, they are pretty simple inside

Depends on the warranty you get I guess, would expect it to be 12 months on the new(refurbed) unit.
