Just generally scouring the usual auction web sites dreaming as per normal and was looking at all of the unfinished projects. Just wondering what would be the ultimate project with no limit to budget/imagination??

i'd love to recreate something, such as the bugatti aerolithe RDMcG posted earlier, or the fuller dymaxion aerocar restored by lord foster

i'd also like:

an early 911 hotrod on coil overs with a 3.5l engine

a triumph dolomite with a supercharged k series, 6 speed box and lsd

something very light with one of those hyabusa derived v8's

Roadgoing F1 lotus.
Ultimate sleeper - a Ssanyong Rhodius with a R8 V10 running gear.
Or if my luck was in, a barn find S1 Miura.

ultimate project be something with a massive v8, handle like an f1 car, seat 4 in brilliant comfort, give 50mpg and spit flames out the exhaust!

That's a good point. I'd love to build an Auto Union Type D.

I would have to say if money was no object then i would like to take an Aston Martin V12 with full running gear and electrics (Ac, electric windows, etc) into a mk3 Ford Cortina 2door, instead of the 302 V8 im doing just now!

Kit car wise it would be an Ultima GTR

My ultimate car/project would have to be a road going version of Jim Clark's lotus 49. Probably impossible, but I can dream smile

E30 M3 Cab with BBS wheels and a S54 from a CSL, one of the most iconic BMW's with one of the best ever power-plants

A bit tame I know but realistically that's what I would want

E9 CSL updated with E46 CSL running gear.

I also fancy an E39 Five Series running the E38 750i's M73 V12. A bit like a Hamann HM5/450, but auto and looking like BMW built it.
