June last year i had and idle problem, car would idle at any revs it desired.

Engine management light came on with allsorts of different codes, i was then advised to have a look at the hose on the back of the intake and sure enough it was split, obviously the light came on because it was compensating for the fuel/air mixture.

Have now got the same sort of problem again only no management light this time checked same hose and is fine.

Car runs perfectly ok as did before can not see anything split can not hear anything sucking in air, does NOT do it all the time.

Car is 04 plate, i have had it for 5 years from 25000 miles now on 75000 with from what i believe is all original including exhaust, catalytic converter, lamda sensors, think one of the baffles might be loose but can not hear a blowing exhaust noise so i think at the moment its just rattling.

Thinking could it be something like an idle speed valve thats possibly starting to fail.

Anyone got any ideas, Thanks in advance.

Clean the MAF and the IACV, reset PCM (battery disconnect) drive briskly for the first 7 miles after the reset and over 2-300 miles the final part of adaption takes place, should be much improved after that.
