Hi all,
Just taken inlet manifold off and top gasket seems fine but bottom one
is totaly shot, is this due to boost pressure cos old one was the same
and new one is only 6 months old.
Is there a better option as it must have been letting in air.
a lot of us spend a lot on mods and mapping which is a waste of time
if gasket is not up to the job.
just to add gasket was supplied as noble part but was in a ford bag when opened.

Interesting Steve, Will keep an eye on this. May I ask why you have removed the manifold?

Well been having some oil leak problems for a while, thought it was sump, still leaking, then done
end casing over xmas, still leaking, now think its leaking through head gasket but not 100%,so iv
taken heads off, and going to replace gasket, hopefully will sort out leak,no oil in cylinders
just seems to be leakin round outside.

I suggest that when the heads go on that they are torqued to +90Nm and then after 500 miles do them again and if possible up to +100. I know yours wasn't re tightened as I spoke to lee and it seems we need to be torquing a lot higher than ARP say due to the bolts/settings are based on N/A engines.
