Mechanics course? Evening or weekend?

Does anyone know of such a part time course that are available in Surrey anywhere? I'm not looking for a change of job just a knowledge based course aimed at teaching the basics of working on a car (some hands on bits would be a plus).

I really want to get working on my cars but am unexperienced as of yet and finding it hard going reading by myself and dont have a garage to practice in!

Believe it or not I don't know ANYONE even remotely interested in car mechnicals to help me out!

I thought there may be such a course at Nescot but I can't find anything

I think Brooklands college, weybridge do a course on a wednesday. I looked into it but had work....
