I have a friend who passed his Bike test back in 2000 and has been riding ever since.

Anyway he has finally passed his car test today. His examiner told him to be carefull as he's on the Two year probation 6 points thing, revoke license etc etc.

Is this true because surely he could get 12 points before passing his car test as he's had his bike lecense for so long.

Any thoughts.

For the purposes of Road Traffic (New Drivers) Act 1995 the probationary period is 2 years from becoming a qualified driver.

For the purposes of the Act one becomes a qualified driver on the FIRST OCCASION on passing ANY test.

This is his second test so he is OK.
