What do show your dash gauges ?

Hello Boys (maybe some girls, i don't know !),
Stupid question to get my own idea.
1) Oil pressure :
When i'm driving my cerb 4.5, the oil pressure gauge is showing a pressure between 60 (when the engine is own but the car stoped at a redlight for example) and 70 when it's on the road.
Is it nearly the same for your cars ?
Isn't it too high ?
But maybe a higher pressure is better than a low one ???
2) Water temp :
The temperature by this weather (nearly 10¨°C in France for the time being) is in normal use about 90°.
If i'm stucked in trafic jam, it can go nearly 105° ; the ventilator comes and the temperature is going down to 95° (never under) and increases fastly and the same process occurs.
Normal ?
I can not talk about this in France as the Cerb are really rare other there and we don not have comparison easily.

The readings are perfectly normal
so no need to worry, the oil presure goes up and down. When at idle it drops and when being driven under presure it goes up and yours is fine.The water reading goes up in traffic and at idle because air is not cooling the engine so it goes up mine can go up to 110 it goes down once the fans kick in, it is easy to see what is happening leave your engine on at the road side with the bonnet up and check temprature on gauge when it hits 105 your fans will start up and you will hear and see them.

For the water temperature, it's exactly the case of my car : 105° i hear the fan (the second one i think) coming in.
And the temperature goes down again (nearly 95° when stucked ; 90° when there are no cars in front of me, that is quite a difficult situation in Paris !!!!).
And, HAPPY NEW YEAR TO EVERYBODY !

My oil pressure also stays very high (80 when cold, 60 when hot) and although this is probably not normal i have been assured its not an issue (good oil pressure is much better than no oil pressure).
The other thing to remember is that the TVR instruments are not very reliable.
Take the water temp - I have the same issue as you where readings are often well over 100, sometimes off the scale >110.
I was worried about this, but when I connected the car to the laptop (using the TVR software), the ECU temp readings were about 10-15 degrees lower than those shown on the dial !
My old Cerbera did actually used to overheat, so I have invested in Jool's cooling chip which lowers the temperature at which the fans come on.

I have just replaced my oil pump spring as it was reading 30 max and dropping to 10 in traffic. It now reads 65 / 70psi. The spring was broken as when I took the bolt out from the side of the pump, it looked like a circlip (did I spell that right?) as the top had broken off.
I think EVERYONE should get out there and change this spring every oil service.
My Cerbera which I dought for £5400 and spent £1300 on is now complete and I MOT'd it at the weekend!!

Good job you changed the spring K33, that oil pressure seems incredibly low for an AJP. In response to the OP, your oil pressures are perfectly normal and healthy. My water gauge reads absolutely nothing like everyone else's here it seems, normal running on a mild day is between 75 and 85 degrees, and haven't seen it rise beyond 95 since the very hottest days of last summer.

Did I miss a trick when I spent £13k?
Yeah Mickydoo... Very cheap, very cheerful but very good. 23000 miles... needs a bit of paint due to lacquer and was water damaged and wasn't running but all that sorted now. Was not running due to the crankshaft sensor wire broken in the loom... sorted!
I have replaced all carpets, cleaned up interior, new rubbers on doors, brakes fully rebuilt, shocks, spiders, full electrical stripout, all black boxes rebuilt, brake hoses, wiper motor... lots of stuff!! See you all at chatsworth

Mine was 90 up to 110 until i replaced coolant pipes, refurbed rad, new temp sensor and thermostat. All back together now and its almost boring waiting for the gauge to rise high enough for fans to kick in 
never goes above 95 now so happy with work done Gassing Station | Cerbera | Top of Page | What's New | My Stuff
