So I need a new battery to get my 4.5 going in the mornings...Optima Red Top seems to be the way to go (altough the equivalent Exide Maxxima has greater CCA's).

I've done a search but not found definitive confirmation from the various happy purchasers what size fits - is is the RTS4.2 as fits in the Cerbera?

TIA

C means connections are centered. Less chance of contact with body.

Hi,

I use an Optima Red top, it is fantastic in my Chimaera, this was the first thing i changed when i bought my car 4 years ago and have never looked back. I had one which lasted 8 years in my previuos Mini sprint car, it was still as effective 8 years on.

Max900 is the one , no probs with this one , also have it on a ctek charger fitted in the car when not in use, turns the 5.4 over no problem

Just got delivery of a new Optima Red Top. 4.2 Standard (was not sure if the cables would be long enough to get the one with poles in the centre). Will be fitting it tomorrow.. One of the other PH members who has it in their Tuscan advised to get it secured with straps, that I already got for a few quid on ebay.

So bear with me for a couple of day and I will come back with first impressions.

OK - Feedback so far: Battery fits fine. It is a bit smaller than the standard size, so needs to be secured with a tie-down strap (bought from ebay for £2.50..).

Took the car for a drive yesterday, all electrics work fine, and to be honest, I think the new battery cured the door issue, that would not open first time. Feedback is similar from other members on here as well, so if you are prepared to spend £178 on a battery (this price included next day delivery as well), then go for it.

Email me if you want the details of the place I got it from.
