My Eldest son in 17 soon and is eager to start driving, I am fully aware of the high premiums etc, I am not willing to go down the fronting route but do want to help him out as much as possible.

I have been advised about a company called IKUBE which specialise in young drivers and appears to rely on a Black Box to monitor their driving habits and mainly not drive between 11pm and 5am.

Now for my own insurance this would be a complete NO NO but having a sort of guardian angel for a new driver seems likea good idea.

Has anyone any experience of this company or any other recommendations. Please be aware of naming/shaming rules.

Apply a huge insurance excess and then insure the excess separately...insuring the excess can be significantly cheaper than the discount it gains on the motor policy and is not age reliant.

For example;

I have no affilation - just did a Google search - please DYOR.
