2 996s are in my scopes. One standard, one with a DMS remap but no aftermarket pipe - does anybody have any advice when buying a mapped car? or advice on which which i should have inspected first - id be happy with either

I would always go for a stock car unless it has been tuned by someone like FVD or cargraphic or nine excellence or rs tuning.

I have never believed in DMS's over inflated power figures but each to their own!

The cars are old enough now to have been mapped by several owners and flashed back to stock, you will never know.

I would happily buy a mapped car providing I thought it was done by a reputable tuner, and of course the car had full history.

There are many tuners worldwide that are considered to be reputable, you need to read the forums and make up your own mind.

add Fearnsport to the list of good mappers.
