Can anyone give me some pointers please? (I've read many posts but can't find the answer I'm looking for).
I love the quality of the pics I get from my Nikon D5000.My issue with it is its not very portable. Because of this, I rarely take it out the house unless I feel the need to cart it round with me.
To get round this, I started looking at a half decent compact and after reading many reviews, today I purchased a Panasonic Lumix TZ20. I'll be taking it back tomorrow as I'm majorly dissapointed with the quality of the images. No matter what appature setting, ISO setting etc, all indoor pictures I've taken tonight are very grainy and have a fair bit of noise in them. I wouldn't mind but my living room is hardly dark with all the lights on. No matter what I try, I don't think the camera is for me.
So, what do I change it for? A few years ago I had a canon Ixus I Zoom. I was really impressed with the picture quality until I dropped it
Currently I'm contemplating having a go with a Nikon S9100 or Canon S95 or perhaps one of Sonys offerings.
My wishlist is as follows:
1) Decent zoom
2) Crystal clear images - no blurred edges, graininess or noise (will be used a fair bit indoors)
3) Cost around the £200 ish mark
4) GPS would be handy but not essential
5) Decent colour reproduction (I also have am Olympus 850SW but I find the colours it produces are poor, dull and lifeless)
Any ideas please guys?

Edited to mention that althogh I love my DSLR, I'm ashamed to admit that I tend to leave it in auto mode and use it as a point and shoot. Needless to say I probably wouldn't use the manual features of a Canon S95, I've just read its a great compact.

I'm surprised as I have a TZ18 that is the same as the TZ20 except for not having GPS. I'm more than pleased with the photos it has produced.
I'm suprised too. A couple of chaps at work both have either the TZ18 / TZ20 and said it was great. All the reviews I read said it was great but in reality, I'm not impressed with its indoor capabilaties. I'm sure that outdoors in daylight she'll really impress.
