Hi Guys, looking to get some european breakdown cover as Ill be going to lemans this summer and a trip to austria in Feb. Looking at breakdown cover I've seen a lot of people talk about ADAC cover but saying there is a minimum value for cars if you would like to get it back to the UK. I drive an 02 plate golf diesel worth about 3k at a push so dont fancy been stuffed if the car breaks down and them deciding to write off the car!

I've got AA cover with breakdown repair coverage but the AA is pretty expensive with it been about £180 to add european annual cover.

Sometimes, just as with their membership prices, it's worth giving them a ring, and see if you can negotiate a reduced price for just two trips, rather than a full annual cover. Might be in the same position myself, with LM + one other, so interested to see how you do, post back.

I'll need to check the small-print, but I don't recall that being a requirement for a car to be repatriated to the UK. I've been an ADAC member since about 2007 and haven't had cause to rely on this service, despite have a 20+ year old 7 Series BMW, but probably best I look into this.

AA do single trip add- on for about £35 - £40 depending on the trip. Worth a try. We did it a few years ago when we took a mates van to LMS, got it insured and breakdown cover added.
