You may have a valid point with the UJs, but why would you need electric motors?I too find the steering wheel annoyingly low, but not a big deal and the feel is undeniably great.

Because rich customers who don't care about Porsche's heritage and driving characteristics would expect electric adjustment in a car costing upwards of £80k, like everything else that costs that much.I too find the steering wheel annoyingly low, but not a big deal and the feel is undeniably great.

Nope.How odd... I bought a 911 as my first car, because I couldn't fit in a Boxster!!! Yet I see you are in your second one of them? Isn't the steering column setup pretty much the same?

It actually pushes back further when it is low down, rather than high up: Even so, I have 35" legs and have the seat as high as it will go and am just about to cross the 100,000 mile mark behind the wheel of 996's - so it can't be that uncomfortable!

I also have long legs (34"). My 996 Gen 1 was OK, but I would have preferred steering height adjustment. I did read somewhere that 996 Gen 2s have a smaller steering wheel and/or lower seats, so may be slightly better. Strangely my 928 had a tilt only wheel...looking forward to the luxury of a 997!

First Boxster was a 986 which was quite a tight fit, 987 is much much better for me inside. The 2 996s I've tried feel smaller to me than the 986. I've just tried sitting in another 996 and tried a few different positions with the seat, but trying out the pedals, my left leg is very restricted by the steering wheel. If I could move it up or have a much lower seat this would be great, as a 996 is a car I'd like to own. Short of fitting a bucket seat I can't see a way round this?
