As per the title really, I have a crack that is going to need me to get a replacement screen.

Any experiences ...

RAC autowindscreens
autoglass
national windscreens
AA windscreens

Thanks in advance

(on iPhone so can't seem to 'search')

I tend to just go with whoever my insurance company recommends. I think all the big companies are pretty much the same.

I've got someone coming out today to swap the windscreen in the Focus (in this weather!). I couldn't quite catch the name of the company on the phone, but i'm sure he said 'smashglass'. Which doesn't sound promising.

Not sure whereabouts in Hampshire you are, but Old School Windscreens in Chertsey might not be that far from you. I've used them several times myself over the years, as has my father for even longer, and can't fault them. They offer a mobile service as well. Could be worth a call to them before taking a gamble with a national chain.

Thank you.

The OP's insco may have a preferred supplier which they may have measures to persuade him to use (capped settlement, higher excess for example). Even if the policy suggests this, not all policies are as restrictive ie, you can choose your own repairer/supplier.
