Humax T2 Freeview PVR Signal issue

Does anyone who has one of these boxes experience a loss of signal quality on their TV via the RF in & out?
The picture from the aerial to Humax to TV via the HDMI from all channels is very good, however if I watch the same channels generally 5* & 5 USA directly on the TV through the RF I get some signal break up.
I put a decent shielded RF coaxial on and it made no difference, 5* & 5 USA are always the first to suffer during bad weather BTW, should this get better after the switch over in March?
