Win an Ariel Atom for the weekend...

...along with tickets for the Performance Car Show too

Next Thursday the doors of the NEC will be opened for the 2012 Autosport International and Performance Car Show, and they will remain open through to Sunday 15th January. To celebrate this, we'd like to give you the chance to win an Ariel Atom for the weekend along with a pair of tickets for the show.

You're a PHer, therefore the car needs no introduction at all, but we will tell you that we'll offer you the keys (well, the immobiliser fob at least) to an Atom 3 245 from Saturday morning to Sunday night, to do with as you please. It's an amazing car of the like only a few will experience, and we are very pleased to be able to offer you the chance to win some time behind the wheel.

As you would expect, there are a few terms and conditions that apply to this competition, and here they are:

  • All entrants must be aged 28 or over to be eligible, this is due to insurance restrictions imposed by Ariel
  • The car must be collected from Highbury, North London
  • The car is not permitted to be used on track or overseas
  • There is a mileage limit of 200 per day, but more can be added at extra cost
  • You can take the car at anytime in 2012, and will need to arrange this with Ariel directly
  • An excess is applicable, although the insurance premium is covered

To be in with a chance of winning, all you need to do is email us (with Ariel competition as the subject line) at competitions@pistonheads.com with your name, date of birth and mobile number and we'll pick a winner from Boss Hogg's Stetson on Friday 6th January at 12.00.

The Performance Car Show runs from 12th - 15th January and tickets are now on sale, priced at £30 for adults and £19.50 for children aged five and over. Each ticket includes entry to Autosport International, the world's greatest motorsport show, featuring the brightest stars and fastest cars in motor racing. For more information call 0844 581 1419 or visit www.Pistonheads.com/show.

Ariel is one of the manufacturers displaying its latest developments at The Performance Car Show: Powered by PistonHeads.com. PistonHeads will also be at the show, displaying 10 of the best supercars on our stand. More on this next week.

TBH I'd be surprised if it was as high as 50%.

I really want ago in an Atom so have duly entered. I'll even do a nice write up.

What's the insurance excess? Given a passenger died in one of these a couple of days ago I just couldn't trust myself. I have no real world experience driving a car of this calibre.

Been a PHer for over 8 years and I am still not allowed to enter the bloody competitions, can we get age limit reduced to 25?

It's typical, I get to 25 which is what most comps require and then you shift the goalposts to 28! Bit rubbish tbh

I'd happily provide PH a review of the experience were I to win. It'd be the least I could do for being such an offensive oaf on PH for so long...

With regards to the age/insurance, what happens if you are 28 this year and don't take the Atom until after your birthday? Ok for me to enter?

Sounds fair enough to me. I'd go for it.

Sorry about the age limit, it's set by Ariel so we are merely the messengers.

You don't need to try to drive it hard from the start. I'd imagine with no experience of this sort of car, you'd get huge enjoyment from it at 5/10ths nevermind any more. I certainly did when I first got the Caterham - it was great fun even tootling along in 30mph zones. In fact it still puts a smile on my face every time I drive it (too seldom now frown) after 12 years of ownership and 80,000+ miles.

This is the only one advantage of being over 28.

Also, you could update the html for the e-mail address to read as;

mailto:competitions@pistonheads.com?subject=Ariel competition

That will auto fill it in for everyone.
