997 4GTS - Noise at idle

Happy new year everyone.

just coming up to 3 months of ownership of the 4GTS and over 8,000 miles driven - absolute joy. Last night at the end of a long motorway journey I noticed a high pitched noise coming from the engine, when I revved slightly above idle, it disappeared (sounds like a slipping drive belt but in reverse, i.e. belt noise happens as you accelerate). This morning, I had a short journey into work. On start up from cold at idle no noise but by the time I got to the office (only 5 miles but car warmed up and cooling fan operating at idle), the noise was back, but not as loud as last night.

OK, I'm going to take it to my OPC but wondered if anyone had experienced anything similar in their new GTS (or 997.2 for that matter). Any thoughts, diagnosis etc. welcome.

My 997.1 sometimes did it for a while. Usually on hot days in traffic. Haven't heard anything for a couple of years which makes me think it was easily dialled out at a service without the need for the OPC to tell me about an expensive fix.
