Hi

So I am completing on my new flat next week (hence the reason I currently only have a boring japanese daily driver) and I cannot get Sky or Virgin Media as of yet (no cables or dishes can be installed quite yet) so I was considering getting one of these for a while:-

Reviews seem generally ok but I was wondering if anyone had any personal experiences or suggestions to share? Help is much appreciated!

Have an old Humx in the bedroom and a newer Freeview HD Humax PVR in the main room - very very pleased, they've been one of the most reliable and intuitive bits of tech we've ever bought. They just seem to 'work'.

It's actually quite good. The basic software is the same as the FOX-T2 but when I tested it you had to download updates. I did swap it for a HUMAX but only because the wife preferred it.

Yeah the updates are avaliable for free from the web and are apparently just plug and play installation.

Sounds like a decent idea for now at least then.

If you get one from John Lewis you can exchange it within a month I think. It was a fair bit cheaper at the time, £199 for the 500GB one as against £299 for the Humax 500GB, So worth a punt.
