So maybe the most random thread of the day but... driving home from work if I go the longer way to avoid traffic I pass a large free range pig farm.

There are lots of corrugated metal "houses" and if it's daylight you see the pigs roaming around. For some reason it reminds me of a POW camp biggrin

Anyway, there was a tailback tonight and I found myself waiting in the pitch black dark opposite the field, and I got to wondering just what the fk are the pigs doing now it's dark? Are they all asleep? Are they still rooting around? Are they lined up watching us queueing like idiots with some kind of pig night vision?

Strange mind I know, but are there any pig farmers on PH? smile

Funnily enough whilst out walking the dogs this morning and hearing the dawn chorus, I was wondering if birds sleep???

They go inside their little tin houses, turn the lights and the central hearing on, then browse PH, and play a bit of PS3.

I thought they have a kind of "one side of the brain only" sleep thing so they rest but are alert to detect predators?

That's sharks.

Ooo, that'd be scary - never mind Sharktopus, Sharkpig would be terrifying. "Bacon Bites Back"

They do whatever they want. Mostly that means sleeping.

Will have been fed by lunch time, then it's just drinking, shagging, suckling and sleeping in the afternoon. Then sleeping at night. Guess some of them get up for a piss or a drink. Seems an OK life to me.
