Has anyone ever had leather to sample as an option on their Porsche? what colour did you go for and how much did it cost?

Lamborghini arancio on a Boxster. It was only around £600 more than the natural leather option and Porsche use their best grade of leather for it.

I thought provence blue was on the 993 option list or maybe Exclusive programme list, rather than being a true CTS? I had a polar silver 993 C4S with it and it looked great.

I also once had a 996 C4 cab in Zenith blue with BMW "champagne" leather which looked really nice - think of it more as a very pale silver, not the very pale cream that the name suggests.

£600 sounds like a bargain.

I recall seeing pictures of ISUK's old Boxster when it changed hands in 2009. It remember that it looked fab-u-lous howver I seem to recall that it was just the seats that had been done?

You can of course 'go mental' and have almost everything covered in leather and that will be where it could all get eye-wateringly expensive... And then, you might even need Carpets to Sample to really carry it off and as far as I know, they will never be able to offer Plastic to Sample so you may be stuck with black for the stalks/switches.

When they say Leather To Sample, do they require something physical for which they do the colour match? Presumably, they could work off a Pantone number? I recall seeing a pink Boxster on the 'web that was apparently Paint To Sample matched to the owners shoes...

Have you seen the National Geographic Ultimate Factories DVD. It surprised me that they appear to do so much of the leather work in-house - effectively all on site!

P.S. There was a very nice looking 599 Aperta on here recently with a totally orange interior that looked stunning although we have seen something similaron one of the special Veyrons but I can't search for the links at the moment.

Edited to add link to the Black and Orange Aperta. Onw can wonder how much you would need to spend at Porsche Exclusive to acheive a similar result.

It was the seats, door inserts and lower dash that were done in mine along with inverted stitching (which cost more than the leather bizarrely).

That is gorgeous, totally uplifts what is such a boring interior when all black.

Really like that.

Is the stitching worth the £..?? Doesn't look like it is to me.

Pics of the stitching. I think it made the interior.

I had the callipers finished in orange as the standard red just didn't look right when the top was down and you could see the seats.

Fantastic. If someone described the concept of orange seats to me I think I'd baulk at it, but that looks so right. You're right that the deviated stitching makes it.

That's gorgeous. I think Porsche interiors need a little lift to make them more special, and that's an enormous hoist towards special!

Wowee. Love the quality of the workmanship, and the individuality of it.

I agree completely.

What colour is the exterior? Midnight blue?

Must confess, that I wasn't aware P. did leather to sample.

Slightly straying away from leather to sample but if you don't like deviated leather it's also quite easy to give a Porsche black interior a subtle but effective lift. This is what I did to our last Boxster. Deviated white stitching everywhere, alcantara seat centres/door armrests and centre storage bin lid, red seatbelts, white dials, crests on the seats, and painted rear centre console.
