Freelander 1 fuel line split

I could do with some advice please. A friend has a TD4 Freelander 1 that he bought from me last year. Apparently a fuel line has split near the inline pump (I don't know exactly which pipe) and he's been quoted around £1200 to replace it! This seems excessive to me but he's been told the part is £700 from Landrover. To complicate matters, he's working away in London at the moment and the vehicle is parked in Morden. With this limited information can anyone advise if this price seems correct and recommend a reliable garage in the Morden area.
