Replacement TomTom touchscreen.
Discussion
Brand new TomTom Via Live 120. Fell off the windscreen first time I ever used it. Predictably, landed face down on the alloy gearknob in the car and the screen smashed.
Apart from this unbelievable piece of bad luck, I haven't the first clue how to get it fixed. Halfords (where it was obtained) were spectacularly unhelpful, sayi9ng "go to TomTom". The wb yields loads of people who repair them, but no pricves quoted, and no indication of reliability.
Anyone have any recommendations for a good place to send it for repair?

I used these guys
http://www.mobilerepaircentre.com/sat_nav_repairs....
to repair my Garmin when I managed to feed it more volts than it considered healthy.
They did a fine job in good time.
These guys also do it for around 70 quid

On the other hand you can buy a replacement screen for about 30 notes and do the job yourself.

I found a repair place that I highly recommend.
www.repair-my-device.com based in North London.
Phoned them first - they were very helpful. They were easily the cheapest - replacement touchscreen fitted was £29.99 (add about £15 for RM special delivery postage both ways). The next cheapest I could find was £49.99 plus postage.
I sent the device on Wednesday, they updated me via e-mail as to the status of the repair, and I got it back yesterday morning: the unit was carefully packed in its original box, which in turn had gone into another box with plenty of bubble wrap.
It works perfectly - very pleased, and I have no hesitation recommending these people to other PHers.
