This odious turd was expounding his ludicrous theories on the BBC again this morning.

This time he thinks that anyone who owns a 4x4 who lives in a conurbation should pay more road tax because they are more dangerous to other road users.

Eh?

But if you live in the countryside you dont have to pay the tax, because obviously if you live outside of a town you would never consider driving into one.

So should we increase the tax on transit vans (bigger, heavier therefore more dangerous).

What a moron.

As already pointed out, Begg's argument was that 4x4's are more dangerous to conventional car drivers. Why then does he not demand a total ban or redesign (or more logically that we all drive 4x4's)? Instead he puts forward the notion that a higher tax makes driving an apparently dangerous car acceptable. A bit like saying machine-guns are dangerous, but if you pay us £1000, then you can carry one with you.

Which has obvious parallels with speed cameras
