Cerbera V8 Racing 2012
Discussion
2012 will see cerbera V8 Racing with the support of TVR Power entering the GT Cup championship.
For 2012 GT Cup have introduced a new faster class 1 to allow the likes of the Ferrari 458, vipers and Lambo’s back into the series. The old class one with the Ferrari F430’s and Porsche 996’s will become class 2. We will be stepping up into this new faster class with the Cerbera. It’s going to be both exciting and very challenging racing against these quicker cars…. The most exciting part for me is to be able to run the car at its maximum potential, no ballast, maximum power and as light as we can possibly make it! To keep pace with the Ferrari 458 I believe we will need to find approximately 2 seconds a lap over last years pace, sounds like too much but with all the ballast we had to run last year removed and the tweaking we will be doing over the winter it could be possible! After all it’s always nice to be faced with a challenge!
The format for GT Cup will remain very similar but with an extra race at each meeting. There will be 8 meetings across the country consisting of three 25 minute races. The information on the championship and the race dates and venues can be found at www.gtcup.co.uk
It promises to be a very exciting year and I have to thank TVR Power for their support. Racing against this calibre of car will be very difficult but I believe we have the tools and support to do it, either way we will give it a good go!
I will keep you all updated on the run up to the season and please remember you can follow us on Facebook @ cerberav8racing and our website www.cerberav8racing.co.uk There will be lots to do over the next few months with testing and preparing the car. We also plan to do a pre season passenger day at Brands hatch.
Cant wait!!!!

Wow, that sounds great for you (as in the challenge) and for TVR fans everywhere. Great to have Power on board. With no ballast and newer tyres who knows? Will you be doing anything with the 4.7 performance-wise? I'll have to try and get along to watch some of these. Should be very exciting to be let off the leash as it were wrt ballast being added for being too quick. Promising to be a very exciting year, the very best of luck to you Mike and team
Great news mate, really looking forward to you showing those Ferrari/Porsches how to go round a track! You didn't have too much trouble with those 458's in Spa!
And well done to Dom at Power for supporting our favourite Cerb racer
You fly the TVR flag very well Mike, keep up the good work mate
