Help with concrete sectional garage panels wanted (Notts)
Discussion
Hi all,
we're restoring, extending and re-roofing our concrete sectional garage (Marley panels), and need around 12 metres of panels to do the job. (its cheaper then forking out nearly £10k for a new one)
We are based near J27 of the M1 in Nottinghamshire, and can hire a flat bed to pick the panels up (as long as they are not too far away).
Please get in touch if you can help, here's a pic of the current garage to give you an idea of the style of panels we need:

The pics make it look worse then it is!! lol
many thanks,
Claire & Phill

now thats got potential, i trust it will be housing something interesting once completed, sorry i cant help out with the materials you require, but it might be worth trying any reclaimation yards, they might have what you need, people are always getting rid of these types of garages.
ayup, yep been on the Marley/leofric website, and trawling the obvious like Ebay daily.
Just posted on here incase anyone is taking down a garage the same as ours to replace with a new one, and had the panels surplus to requirements.
If we replace the whole garage, we've got to go through building regulations, which will cost us £325 to the council, plus the extra cost of replacing the whole building.
It will take 6 of our 9 cars when completed, with the daily hacks living on the drive. We're thinking of selling one of the projects, as we've no time to fix it.

My old man is the owner of D H Harvey & Sons Builders based in Eastwood fairly local to you actually.
I will show him the pics when I see him and he will know whats best to do so you keep the authorities happy!
Hes been in the game nearly 50 years so it will be sound (and free) advice.
Will come back to you soon.

I've already spoken to the building regs bod at Broxtowe Council, and they say that as long as the new bit is 30sqM or less (which it is) then we dont need building regs - straight from the proverbial 'nags gob' is good enough for me!
Decided, that we are going to use the panels on the 'far side' of the existing garage to make the panels on 'this side' match, so we just need panels to run the length of the far side (about 47ft IIRC). They still have to be Marley panels, but dont have to be the 'brick effect' ones. We did find some on Ebay, but they were in Bristol, which is too far away for us to fetch.
The roof is going to be completely replaced, its not asbestos, but its that stuff that looks like it (cant remember the name of it off the top of my head).
We've been checking all the classifieds, Ebay, Ebid, etc, but if any of you are, or know of someone, getting rid of a sectional garage, then please let me know.
Cheers in advance,
Claire

well a big thank you to Piston Heads, as I had a call from a guy today who's in Hucknall and getting rid of a garage the same as ours.
He 'googled' "Concrete garage panels wanted" and found this thread, we've been over tonight to see the garage, struck a deal, and all being well we'll be fetching it over the coming days (weather depending as usual).
Chuffed aint the word! lol
