I appreciate it's probably been asked before (had a search, couldn't find anything that answered my question) but has anybody dealt with these chaps before and if so, what was the experience like? I'm in the situation where I need to sell her car and given it's done a few miles, isn't the best example out there and I can't be arsed with selling it privately... I popped the details in WBAC and the figure returned was near what I'd be asking if I sold it privately.

So, given time is marching on (MOT due fairly soon etc) I'm debating taking it over to see what's what. Should I be ready for them to offer me half of what they offered online after some 20yr old oink has kicked it's tyres and sucked his teeth? If they are true to their word and give me what they said, then given the circumstances I'd be happy to let it go if only to save me alot of time, hassle and potential tyre kickers.

Regards

The old man flogged a Vectra to them for £3500 ish. This was near book value/private sales at the time, they knocked £75 quid off when they saw it but otherwise were fine. From various indications it was developing a common fault with the 1.9 engine at the time so he wanted shot quickly!

The process was very easy.

I do wonder if all their cars are a few miles away from a big bill.

They made me an offer, the dealer made a better offer to trade the car in so that's what we did. They are not too bad and you don't have to accept their offer. Seems to depend what car it is in terms of what they offer, they seem quite good on the bread and butter stuff because it's easy to sell on.

Edit to add, they will knock something off for various tiny blemishes. It's almost unheard of for them not to so I can only assume this goes towards some bonus system.

Numerous threads on here. Yes, when you go to the depot they will try to knock you down on the price in the main and some of their online valuations are way off the mark but they can sometimes be fair with their pricing and if you need to sell a car quickly and without the hassle of eBay etc then it can be a good solution.

The ads put me right off, that horrible (but memorable I suppose) Chav anthem theme tune, the people saying how its Quick, speed, a fair, deal, all looking pleased with themselves at probably having given their cars away and having a brew. I think the reality is people getting out of something they bought in better times for peanuts and then buying a snotter.

I just couldnt sell them a car unless they re-brand and dont appeal to the lowest common denominator. They seem to be harvesting the cars to sell onto other gibbons at 30 percent apr via Carcraft or whatever, went in there once, seemed expensive and I kind of realised that selling cars is secondary to selling finance.

We buy loads of cars from customers who have been to them before us, admin fee, wait for a few days to get paid, and staff they pay in line with what they can chip off the internet price quoted....and the OFT has warned them about their conduct.

Collected a few cars for these boys.

I wouldn't recommend them, either for selling to buying off or generally dealing with in a commercial/financial way.

just my opinion
