I'm aware that this may be a silly question, but is there any way of converting a car's clutch to be a wet-plate, i.e. where you have the oil cooling the clutch like on motorcycles?

So I can slip the cloth and rev the engine without burning the plates. I'm thinking of getting a high revving vintage soon....

it will take a huge amount of modification am sure, and am sure if the vintage car managed for so many years without it, you will be ok

Anything's possible, but it would be a huge amount of work and you will simply end up with higher transmission losses and more weight to carry around.

Why do you need to slip the clutch so much? Is the gearing too tall?

I didn't realise it would be such a large job. I love slipping the clutch on the bike while revving when doing slow manoeuvres; would have been nice to do so in a car with a nice exhaust note without burning the clutch out.

It would be cheaper to invest in some driving lessons.
