Right, I currently own one of these

http://www.autotrader.co.uk/classified/advert/2012...

totally standard.

Thinking of keeping it andwhen MOT and tax are due making it SORN and then throwing one of these in.

http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/Ford-Focus-MK1-Engine-2-...

and some of these

http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/FORD-FIESTA-Mk5-98-00-CO...

http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/Fiesta-ST-brake-upgrade-...

Stripping the interior, a respray or wrap etc and making something "a bit more" than the car is now.

Is this a good Idea? Not sure, my other option is to sell the car and then buy 2 other cars, one to tune/mod and one for daily driving (would probably go jap). Right now I'm thinking keeping the fiesta is the way forward for both cost and fun.

Any feedback/Ideas appreciated,

Jim

Consider that if you're fitting a 2.0 Zetec in a Fiesta you'll also need a scrap 1.8 Zetec engine to swap parts from such as sump, pickup pipe, water pump etc.

cool, cheers
only just thought about this so haven't really done much research into the practicalities yet.

Still seems like quite a cheap way to end up with something fun though,

Will a 1.8 drop straight in, might be a better option?

May also be worth looking into a Ford Racing Puma 1.7 engine. Straight swap, can be done in 4-5 hours.

ETA The 1.8 Zetec is pretty gutless in standard form unless you can source a 130 BHP lump from an Escort GTi although the 105 BHP version can be brought up to 130 BHP with the addition of the GTi cams.

I cant see the original link but if its a mk5 id say do the 1.7 puma engine, much easier and simpler to do!
