Interesting Dilemma to solve tonight

Cerb is reversed into garage so that the back is against the wall.

passenger side not accessible

battery completely flat, despite idiot of an owner ( yours truly) having a trickle charger and forgetting to use it over Xmas.

bonnet locked down.

so, doors wont unlock and handbrake is on, therefore unable to move car forward.....

I will sit on a chair staring at the car until inspiration hits me....

Jack up the offside rear, remove the wheel, slacken off the handbrake cable.

probably not actually as theres a little oil on the garage floor. may do this as will only need to move it a small amount forwards.

I seem to recall a suggestion a few years back that you could attach a spare battery to the car using jump leads to an earth point and then (being careful not to short circuit) the +ve to the starter motor which would give enough power to pop the doors or am I confusing a solution to a different problem?

I have only had my cerb for 3 months and from the mooment I got it I haave been expecting this....
I always leave the boot open with a not on the dash reminding me it's open.

I have always wondered what the options would be if the battery went. I guess now I know, always leave the window open

Is it in gear? If not this is a TVR's hand brake. Put a bar or length or wood between to garage door bottom if you follow to act as a chalk to stop the car rolling any further than this just in case, Use your daily to pull it out on a tow rope it will move enough for you to get to the rear of the car. Done something like this my self to pull mine off the ramp as mine is not running just now and being on my own through the day had to come up with something.

How good is your handbrake ? If (like most) it's not much cop just tow it out maybe?

When i put mine in the garage i leave the bonnet unlocked and the handbrake off so i can push the car out of the garage and access the battery if its flat......best to do this in future????

If your handbrake is anything like mine - just push it out!

Without going into too much detail, I managed to get to the rear of the car and now its back on trickle although i don't hold out much hope and it may have to be jumped in the morning. Doors and bonnet now released! thanks all.

Quick question.

Car seems to have taken a full charge overnight from the trickle charger. The charger indicates fully charged and the windows and alarm system seem to be operating well. However, I cannot get any ignition. I can set and unset the alarm and I can also disable the immobiliser with the remote. However when I press the black ignition button I get nothing. I have disconnected and reconnected the ignition module and will start on the fuses next once I remember which one does what, however can anyone else recommend anything in the short term?

Will try that. but the immobiliser light is currently being turnd off so i think its more of an ignition issue than alarm / immobiliser as there are no dash warning lights when i press the black button. thanks
