Can't find a thread along these lines so thought I'd start one. (if there is a thread on these lines, apologies).

I (and a few others) have spent around 30 years looking for this car (last spotted in the south, south east area of UK around 15 years ago).

NWA 56D Ginetta G11 Coupe
(Fibreglass body with MGB running gear and B steel doors)

The slightest bit of info on its whereabouts or sightings would be wonderful.
All avenues have been exhausted but we are still confident that it is out there, ie: it's not been scrapped, but probably under piles of junk in the usual barn or lockup or garage.

Early days in its life and colour pic as last seen

I've seen that MGB, it was in Former Glory showroom about 4 years ago.

I think one of the Bond film DB5's was stolen about 10 or 15 years ago and never found?

Yeah the DB5 (I think the main one used for filming out of the handful the studio had) was resold and then stolen in like 1997.
Others that come to mind are the bits of james dean's porsche which have vanished (or not, as a lot of people say)

The advantage of something like that Ginetta is the fibreglass, but still really is a needle in a haystack.

They do turn up though!

Correct. One of the "DB5s" used in Goldfinger with the chassis number DP/216/1 had the weaponry and gadgetry stripped by Aston Martin and then resold. It was then retrofitted by subsequent owners with non original weaponry. This car was stolen in 1997 from its last owner in Florida and is currently still missing.
There were 3 cars used in Goldfinger, BMT 214A, BMT 216A and FMP 7B and were in fact protype DB5s and more correctly should be referred to as DB4 Series 5.
Can I put my anorak away now please ?? smile

You can hang your anorak next to mine.

As far as I am aware, the DB4 Series V only differed from the initial DB5 in the bagde on the back.

Anyone here in Kuwait?

A TVR 350SX was exported there in 1989 about a year before Saddam rolled in. Can't find any trace and no-one from any of the motor clubs I've emailed out there has replied. As only 11 Sxs were produced I'd be interested to know if it still exists

Only 11 SXs were produced?! Wow, I remember reading a road test of that in (probably) Fast Lane or Performance Car at the time it came out. Probably still got it in the shed.

Both of you should burn your anoraks. The DB4 series V is not a DB5. You are thinking of the DB4 Vantage which had he cowled headlights of the DB5. The DB4 series 5 has the vertical headlights. They also had a 4 speed gearbox, not the 5 used on the DB5. The Db5 prototype was a Db4, of course..

Very interesting thread. Its a,so interesting when cars are found again: like the Bugatti in the lake, which when examined was found to have the same chassis number as one in a Japanese collection...

Not sure if "on topic", but wasn't the car used in "A Clockwork Orange" never found once filming had finished?.

I wonder how many 'Silver Arrows' remain to be found? There are some great stories from the late 70s and 80s of cars being unearthed and smuggled out of the former Communist Block but I can't help but wonder if there are still relics hidden away that might re-emerge at some point.

The other car that has some 'lost, still not found' credentials is the Bucciali TAV8-32, an amazing machine from 1931-32.

The car pictured has been pieced back together over the last thirty years and has spawned two Buccialis in the process. This was the only car known to have been sold back in the early '30s. The saloon body was by Saoutchik but the same chassis had been shown the previous year with an imposing roadster body. The question is; do any of the five or six prototypes still survive, slumbering forgotten somewhere?

I thought only FMP 7B was a DB4 series 6 which became the DB5 with the other three being DB5s?

p.s. No I don't know where the Ginetta is.

According to the Original Aston DB4,5 and 6 book the differentiation between the end of DB4 and start of DB5 is not clear cut.

The five speed ZF 'box has been mentioned previously...but early DB5s had two gearbox options; the David Brown four speed with or without overdrive - exactly like the DB4 Series 5. THe ZF box was brought in as a third option during the production run before being standardised.

The last 11 DB4 Series 5s all had the faired in lights, irrespective of whether they were Vantages or not. In contrast, there was at least one DB5 built with the DB4 exposed headlights, presumably because the customer preferred the style.

So, I think it is safe to say that the DB4 morphed into the DB5 over a period of time, in which case anorak burning is not strictly necessary!

Anyway...back to the topic!
