Afternoon gents (and laydees if any are in attendance),

Following a rather interesting few races last night, I have decided to gauge interest in a possible NASCAR series. Granted there aren't a great deal of tracks (or usable cars for that matter!), but a couple of races around Benchmark Test Ring last night have me wanting more.

Ideally, I'd like to get a full lobby of 16, so we can see just how well a full grid can draft. The racing may not be to everyone's liking, but anyone who is interested in maybe doing a couple of sessions, add your name to the list below and I will look at which tracks we can include and when we can do this.

It doesn't need to be set in stone or anything serious, but a short series of possibly 15-20 laps per race would be a good starting point. Stock car class would be R3 (800) so would allow for modifications to the Ford and Chevy stocks.

If anyone has any other suggestions to add to the pot, let me know as I'll be interested to hear any ideas.

Count me in It was good fun last night.

Awesome WKD

can the stock cars be tuned past PI 800. Fully tuned cars may make it interesting in the corners a bit more

I wouldn't have any problem in allowing any tunes that people want to apply.

I think R3 800 is a good borderline as the cars we're plenty fast enough last night, but if anyone wants to apply their own tunes for handling etc then be my guest!

I'm personally going to have a play around with the gearing ratios to see whether I can squeeze a little more out of it.

This could be interesting, I've never done a proper NASCAR race on forza.

Well, if we have enough interest then I'll look to set something up one evening next week. Hopefully we won't have too many connection issues. Certainly was a good couple of races the other night! Well worth a try to see what happens!

Dont just limit yourself to ovals, the Sprint Cup races on Road Courses too from what I understand.

Throw in Road America and Atlanta, Infinion Stock Car Circuit and maybe a couple of euro tracks??

Really enjoyed the mess around races we had tonight after the hatches so reckon this could be a good championship.

Ok, so following the interest over the last few days, and after the Sunday evening races, I'm going to go ahead and organise a couple of races to start us off.

I am thinking Wednesday evenings, to take the place of the unfortunate death of the Early Touring Car racing. Being mid-week, hopefully most will be able to make this, although I haven't had a look at what other series are currently racing on a Wednesday, so if it is going to conflict then let me know and I'll look to change.

Rules:
Ford or Chevrolet Stock Cars - R3 (800PI) Max
Tuning will be open, so people can fettle with the gear ratios/downforce etc, as it may make the series a little more interesting. However, if some are way ahead of others, then I may cap this to an even level. I'll give it a trial in the first race and see what happens.

All cars must have a design/paint. I know its a bit of a crappy rule, but it looks pretty dull having a full grid of No. 4 Chevy stock cars. There are a load of half decent paints/designs on the storefront for nout, or if feeling creative, make your own. Just thought it may make it a tad more interesting.

I'll come up with a list of courses later and will start with a couple and see what the attendance is like to kick things off. If anyone feels like they want to add anything, let me know and I'll take it on board.

Sounds good to me.

Couple of question. How many laps? Are we have quali or just straight to race? Are going to have a pit stop as well?

Annoyingly, most of those questions are going to depend on the types of courses we run and also how many people. I'd anticipate there being perhaps 20-30 laps depending on track size, and would like to adopt one pit stop, however if we're going to be racing a course like Benchmark Test Ring, coming out of the pits with only maybe 6-10 people in the race could be fairly dull for the remainder of the race if the rest of the pack are half way round the course.

I'll have a think about that and see what may be best. I'll also need to have a look at courses later once I'm home so I can assess which ones would be best to include. We need to have a couple of street circuits in there, as well as the obvious oval/ring type circuits.
