I'd guess you could get a recon unit if you wanted, same as an alternator etc.. I had a recon alternator on mine and it's been fine. Doubt there is anything special about it but I stand to be corrected after all it's a TVR and there are no rule books
I have noticed that a lot of people do heat sheild the starter to stop some of the heat soak damaging them. May be worth considering if you take it out.
