Now the box is at CTS for a rebuild i might as well get the diff checked as well.

What size hex drive are the drive shaft to diff bolts? Look to be slightly bigger than the 8mm i've got

TIA

They are 8mm hex M10x60 hi-tensile cap heads. I have recently had my GKN diff out for refurb at CTS, they done a cracking job, really pleased. The mounting brackets to the front of the diff have four 10mm hex M12 cap heads. I used all new fixings on the driveshafts and diff mountings. Ensure they are the high tensile type. All the best, Pete

Thanks Pete.

Did you change the mounting bushes at the same time? Original or poly if you did?

Hi, I changed the bushes at the same time, I used the same original spec type (available from David Gerald TVR). The earlier GKN setup uses smaller bushes for the side brackets than on later units! I made the mistake of buying (before checking) a polybush set and the only ones available was the larger (later type) ones. They cost me about £30 from DG TVR. Do note though, the bushes are a pain in the a***e to get out of the mounts. I ended up forcing out the centre tube, cutting the metalastic rubber, removing it and then carefully cutting through the outer bush tube to enable me to release it from the mounting. They corrode in after time so are guaranteed to be a pain. All the best, Pete
